Culps Hill - On the barb of the famous fish hook line, along which the Union army defended the hills and ridge south of the town of Gettysburg. General Ewell's failure to take this position on the first day allowed the Union forces to consolidate their defensive positions. Portions of this position changed hands on the second and third days of the battle.
